How to Join the Spokane Valley Police Department
Hiring Process
The Spokane Valley Police Department (SVPD) has a rigorous hiring process that includes the following steps:
- Initial Screening: Candidates must meet the basic requirements, including age, education, and driving record.
- Written Exam: Candidates must pass a written exam that tests their cognitive abilities and knowledge of law enforcement.
- Physical Agility Test: Candidates must pass a physical agility test that includes running, sit-ups, and push-ups.
- Oral Board Interview: Candidates who pass the written and physical exams will be interviewed by an oral board.
- Background Investigation: The SVPD will conduct a thorough background investigation on candidates who pass the oral board interview.
