Duran Duran Frontman Simon Le Bon
Biography
Simon John Charles Le Bon was born on October 27, 1958, in Bushey, Hertfordshire, England. He is best known as the lead vocalist and lyricist of the new wave band Duran Duran. Le Bon joined the band in 1980, replacing Andy Taylor, and has been the frontman ever since.
Duran Duran
Duran Duran rose to fame in the early 1980s with their debut album, Rio. The album spawned several hit singles, including "Hungry Like the Wolf" and "Rio." Duran Duran continued to release successful albums throughout the 1980s, including Seven and Ragged Tiger. The band's popularity waned somewhat in the 1990s, but they have continued to release music and tour.
Personal Life
Le Bon has been married twice. His first marriage was to actress Yasmin Le Bon in 1985. They have three daughters. Le Bon's second marriage was to model Patricia Kapfer in 1999. They have one daughter.
Awards and Recognition
Duran Duran has won numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards and an MTV Video Music Award. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.
