The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is urging the public to be vigilant against a fake website that has been designed to impersonate the official GOV.UK website for vehicle registration services.
The fraudulent website, which uses the domain name "DVLA.WEB," is a highly convincing replica of the legitimate GOV.UK page. It even uses similar branding and layout, making it difficult to distinguish from the original.
However, the DVLA has confirmed that the "DVLA.WEB" website is not operated by the agency and should not be used for any official transactions related to vehicle registration or after-sales services.
Individuals who attempt to use the fake website may fall victim to phishing scams, where scammers attempt to steal personal and financial information by posing as legitimate organizations.
The DVLA advises using the official GOV.UK website at https://www.gov.uk/browse/driving/vehicle-tax
for all vehicle registration and after-sales transactions.
