WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange Wins Right to Appeal Extradition

Assange Faces Espionage Charges in US

WikiLeaks Publishes Millions of Documents

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been granted permission to launch a full appeal against his extradition to the United States. A court in London ruled on Monday that Assange is free to appeal the decision to extradite him to face espionage charges.

The US is hoping to extradite Assange and try him for espionage, but Assange claims that the charges are politically motivated and that he will not receive a fair trial in the US. Assange's legal team is expected to argue that the US government is targeting him because of his work with WikiLeaks, which has published millions of classified documents and associated analyses.

Assange is currently in custody in the UK, and it is unclear when his extradition hearing will take place. If he is extradited to the US, he could face a lengthy prison sentence.
